Katadyn Befree

The blue Befree AC from Katadyn is a water filter with an integrated activated carbon capsule. It has a dual filtration system, each with its own advantages:

• Hollow rod filtration (0.1 micron): eliminates protozoa, bacteria, cysts and sediment.


• Activated carbon filtration: improves the taste, colour and odour of the water and traps chemical contaminants (chlorine, etc.).

The hollow-rod filter lasts up to 1000 litres and the activated carbon capsule up to 200 litres, depending on water quality. The capsule is easily removable, either for replacement or to save on water that has no taste, colour or odour (mountain springs, for example). The hollow-rod filter cleans itself simply by filling the flask with safe water and stirring.

Simple to use, simply fill the flexible bottle with the water to be treated, then drink through the teat. The flow rate is fast, up to 2 l/min, which is handy if you want to transfer treated water to another container for even more autonomy.

The stopper has a cap to prevent any risk of leakage. A plastic loop allows you to attach a small carabiner to hang the water bottle from your rucksack strap, for example, for drinking without having to take breaks. The water pouch is flexible and can be folded on itself to save space in the bag. The whole unit weighs just 76 grams.
